Questions about oven & range repair
The oven takes forever to preheat — is that the igniter?
On a gas oven, yes, most of the time. A weak igniter delays the gas valve opening. It is a standard replacement.
My oven door is locked after self-clean.
The lock motor or the latch switch has stuck. Do not force the door — the technician releases it and replaces the failed part.
Can you repair the glass cooktop on my range?
Yes — elements, switches and sensors under the glass are repairable. Cracked glass is replaced as a panel when the part is available.
