Dryer repair in Los Angeles

A dryer that runs but does not heat is a heating element, a thermal fuse, a gas igniter or a coil — all standard parts we carry. A dryer that takes two or three cycles is usually a vent problem, which is also a fire risk, so we check the vent on every dryer call.

Electric dryers

No heat almost always means the heating element, the high-limit thermostat or the thermal fuse. A blown thermal fuse is a symptom of restricted airflow, so we check the vent before replacing it. A dryer that will not start is usually the door switch, start switch or belt switch.

Gas dryers

If the igniter glows but the burner does not light, the gas valve coils have failed — a common, inexpensive repair. No glow means the igniter, flame sensor or thermal fuse. Gas dryer work includes a leak check after the repair.

Noise and tumbling

Squealing is a worn drum bearing or idler pulley; thumping is a flat drum roller or a damaged belt. Not tumbling with the motor humming is the belt. These are same-visit repairs.

Price and warranty

The service call is $69 and is applied to the repair when you go ahead. After the diagnosis you get the price for parts and labor up front, and nothing is done until you approve it. Every repair carries a 90-day warranty on parts and labor; sealed-system repairs on refrigeration and HVAC carry 6 months; HVAC installations carry 1 year. Seniors and military — mention it when you book.

Questions about dryer repair

Do you clean dryer vents?

We clear the connection and the first section of vent during a repair and tell you if the run needs a full cleaning.

Why does my dryer keep blowing the thermal fuse?

Restricted airflow — a clogged vent, a crushed hose or a lint-packed blower. Replacing the fuse without fixing airflow just repeats the failure.

Can you convert a gas dryer to electric or vice versa?

No. Dryers are built for one fuel type.
